California-based EV charging company EVgo has announced plans to build the first high-powered fast-charging network in the United States

California-based EV charging company EVgo has announced plans to build the first high-powered fast-charging network in the United States that will be powered by renewable energy. The company plans to build more than 400 EV fast-charging stations across 34 states, with a focus on locations such as urban areas, suburban areas, and highways.

The charging stations will have a power output of up to 350 kW, which can add up to 150 miles of range in as little as 15 minutes. All of the charging stations will be powered by renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power, making them a more sustainable option for EV drivers.

According to Cathy Zoi, CEO of EVgo, "We're excited to be leading the way in providing fast-charging solutions that are both convenient and sustainable. By building our network with renewable energy, we're helping to reduce our carbon footprint and support a more sustainable transportation system."

This initiative by EVgo is a significant investment in the expansion of EV charging infrastructure and the use of renewable energy sources to power it. With more and more EV charging companies investing in renewable energy and fast-charging solutions, we can expect to see continued growth in the EV market and the adoption of sustainable transportation options.
